Jon Lord

Jon Lord OBE is currently the Chief Executive of Bolton at Home. After initially working as a Funeral Director, Jon made the leap into housing in 1987 and gained his wealth of experience with a wide variety of roles in management and tenant participation. Jon became a Chief Officer in Bolton Council in 2001 and has been the Chair of the Greater Manchester Consortium for refugees and asylum seekers since that time.  In addition, he had a unique joint role across the Local Authority, ALMO and Strategic Housing Partnership, managing a wide range of housing services as well as responsibility for the development of affordable housing. He was awarded an OBE in 2007 for services to housing.

In April 2010, Jon became the Chief Executive of Bolton’s ALMO, Bolton at Home, and has led the organisation in the transition from ALMO to a Registered Housing and Regeneration company, which is now delivering a wide range of housing and community based services across all neighbourhoods in Bolton. Jon chairs the Greater Manchester Housing Providers Group and the Greater Manchester Asylum and Refugee Consortium.  Bolton at Home also deliver services focused on community support, financial inclusion and work/training advice in some of the most deprived wards in the country.  Therefore, understanding and tackling poverty is a key part of his job as Chief Executive.
